Widgets

How do I add the Habit Pebble widget on Android?

  1. Long-press an empty spot on your home screen and tap Widgets.
  2. Find Habit Pebble and drag Today list onto the home screen.
  3. Tap the circle next to a habit to check it off without opening the app. Tap its name to open it.

You can also start from the app: Settings → Widgets → Add to home screen, if your launcher supports it.

The widget is blank or out of date? Open Habit Pebble once, then go back to the home screen. Some phones stop background updates to save battery; run Settings → Reminder check-up and allow what it flags.

How do I add the Habit Pebble widget on iPhone?

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit (or +), then search for Habit Pebble.
  3. Choose Today list, tap Add Widget, then Done.

Checking off from the widget needs iOS 17 or later. On older versions, tapping the widget opens the app.

Which widgets are free?

Today list is free, with no limit on habits. Daily ring and Week grid (and the Lock Screen widget on iPhone) are part of Habit Pebble Pro.

Reminders

My reminders don't arrive

Open Settings → Reminder check-up. It checks everything that can block a reminder and gives you a button to fix each item: notification permission, the Alarms & reminders permission (Android 12+), battery optimisation, and the extra steps some phone brands need. Then tap Send a test now, or Test in 1 minute and close the app. If the test arrives, your reminders will too.

Extra steps by phone brand (Android)

On iPhone

Settings → Notifications → Habit Pebble → turn on Allow Notifications, and check that a Focus mode isn't silencing it.

Can I tick a habit off from the reminder?

Yes. Tap Done or Skip on the reminder itself. Once a habit is done for the day, its reminder for that day stays quiet.

Backup and moving to a new phone

How do I back up my habits?

Settings → Backup & restore → Back up now. Choose where to save the file, for example Google Drive, iCloud Drive, Files or a folder on your phone. Habit Pebble has no account and no server, so the file is yours to keep. Your phone's own backup can also bring Habit Pebble's data back when you set up a new phone from it.

Moving to a new phone

  1. On the old phone: Back up now to a place the new phone can reach.
  2. Install Habit Pebble on the new phone.
  3. Settings → Backup & restore → Restore from a backup and pick the file.
  4. Settings → Restore purchases to get Pro back with the same Google account or Apple Account.

The backup file works on both Android and iPhone. Pro is tied to the store you bought it from.

Coming from Loop Habit Tracker?

Settings → Backup & restore → Import from Loop Habit Tracker, then pick Loop's backup (.db) or its CSV export (.zip).

Restore says the file can't be read

Pick the Habit Pebble backup file itself, not a folder or a CSV export (CSV is for spreadsheets). If the file came through a chat app, download it first. Still stuck? Email us.

Habits and streaks

I forgot to check in yesterday. Can I fix it?

Yes. Open the habit and tap any past day in the calendar to check it, uncheck it or change the number.

How do weekly habits work?

Choose X times a week (or a month). The streak counts the weeks in which you hit the target, so rest days never break it. You can also pick specific weekdays.

I was sick or travelling

Choose Skip this day. A skipped day doesn't count as missed, so your streak stays in place.

Can I track a number, or a habit I want to quit?

Yes. Choose a number habit with a daily target (like 8 glasses), or a quit habit and check it off on each day you stayed clear.

Is there a limit on habits?

No. Unlimited habits are free.

Habit Pebble Pro

What does Pro include?

Pro is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and nothing renews. It adds the Daily ring and Week grid widgets, Insights (best weekdays, monthly totals, 90-day and 1-year rates), theme colours, 16 habit colours and any emoji as a habit icon, and CSV export.

Always free: unlimited habits, the Today list widget, reminders and the Reminder check-up, history editing, streaks, the calendar and heat map, share cards, and backups. The free version shows occasional ads; Pro removes them.

Why do I see ads, and how do I remove them?

The free version shows an occasional full-screen ad (Google AdMob), never during a counting session or while you edit a habit. Pro is a one-time purchase that removes them. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message asks first; reopen it under Settings → Ad privacy choices. See the Privacy Policy for what ads use.

I bought Pro but it isn't unlocked

Settings → Restore purchases. Check you are signed in to the same Google account or Apple Account you bought it with. A pending payment can take a few minutes.
